posted the : 2026-03-18
The C919 is China's first self-developed jet trunk passenger aircraft with independent intellectual property rights in accordance with international airworthiness standards, with a seat level of 158 to 192 and a range of 4,075 to 5,555 kilometers. It was developed by China Commercial Aircraft Co., Ltd. (China Commercial Aviation) headquartered in Shanghai.
The following are its core highlights:
· Naming and positioning: "C" is the initials of China and COMAC, which also implies competing with Airbus and Boeing for the blue sky; "9" means long. It directly benchmarks the Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737MAX series.
· Technical highlights: The streamlined head with fully independently designed supercritical wings and 4 curved windshields, with low flight resistance and wider field of view. The amount of advanced materials (aluminum lithium alloy, composite materials) is high, which achieves significant weight reduction. The cockpit is equipped with 5 15.4-inch high-definition displays and side joysticks, and the human-computer interaction is more concise.
· Comfort details: The cabin aisle is 2.25 meters high, and the space is open. The humanized design of the middle seat in the economy class is wider than on both sides, ending the history of "the most uncomfortable sitting in the middle".
· Milestone moment: The first flight was made in 2017, the model qualification certificate was obtained in 2022, and the world's first commercial passenger flight was completed by China Eastern Airlines on May 28, 2023.
· Operation status: As of November 2025, 26 aircraft have been delivered, operated by China Eastern Airlines, China Airlines and China Southern Airlines, with cumulative orders of more than 1,000 aircraft.
