Boeing announced on September 20 that it has received a confirmed order for two 737-800 Boeing Modified Freighters (BCF) from an undisclosed customer; at the same time, in order to meet strong market demand, the company will add modified freighter production lines in Guangzhou, China and Singapore.
The 737-800BCF is based on a new generation of 737 passenger aircraft that is favored by the market, and can bring customers newer technology, lower fuel consumption and higher reliability among similar standard airframe freighters. This model is mainly used to carry express cargo on domestic routes or short-distance routes. Its load capacity can reach 23.9 tons, and it can fly as far as 2000 nautical miles (3750 kilometers).
Boeing launched the 737-800BCF project in Shanghai in 2016, and carried out the project entirely in China, where the e-commerce and express industry is developing rapidly. Currently, it is in Shanghai Boeing Aviation Modification and Maintenance Engineering Company, Shandong Taikoo Aircraft Engineering Company and Guangzhou Aircraft Engineering Company. The company (GAMECO) has three modification centers. So far, the project has won 134 confirmed orders and committed orders, and delivered 36 aircraft to more than 10 users on four continents around the world. GAMECO's second 737-800BCF production line is expected to be put into operation in early 2021.
Tons, and can fly as far as 2000 nautical miles (3750 kilometers).
Ihssane Mounir, Boeing’s senior vice president of global civil aviation marketing, said: “The cargo aircraft modification program can double the service life of aircraft and provide customers with an economical way to replace inefficient freighters. By working with partners By increasing the production capacity of modified freighters, we hope to meet the strong demand in this segment and help customers expand their business."
Boeing will also open a second 767-300BCF wide-body modified freighter production line at Singapore's Shinco Engineering Company. The production line is expected to be put into operation later this year.
As the most efficient model in the same class of freighter, the 767 freighter family can provide the lowest segment operating costs, allowing airlines to develop new opportunities in the long-distance, regional and transshipment markets. The 767-300BCF has almost the same cargo capacity as the 767-300F production freighter, with a payload of 56.5 tons and a flying distance of 3350 nautical miles (6190 kilometers).
The Boeing freighter family, composed of production freighters and modified freighters, provides more than 90% of the world's freighter capacity. It has the best capacity and capacity and excellent economy in each tonnage class of freighter.
